Conor McGregor, the former UFC double champion, will enter the Octagon in a rematch with Dustin Poirier on 10th July. McGregor is already making the news on one or the other controversies.

‘The Notorious’ one has got his name under the spotlight. Surrounding himself with controversy by giving yet another statement on Twitter. McGregor said “Hey guys, I’m thinking about buying Manchester United! What do you think?” 

The Irishman used to play football before he became a professional fighter. When he was a member of the Lourdes Celtic which is a football club from Crumlin.

Conor McGregor also bought a grey United jersey when he was only 8 years old because he was a Manchester United fanboy. He idealized the Irish football legend, Denis Irwin and Roy Keane.

McGregor tells “I was attracted to the success and winning mentality of the club and people surrounded by United. Irish legends like Denis Irwin and Roy Keane were dedicated to their craft and had that winning mentality”(h/t:manunited.com).

According to a valuation Manchester United is worth $4.2 billion with $643 million in revenue and has an operating income of $167 million. The club is owned by Avram Glazer, Joel Glazer, Kevin Glazer, Bryan Glazer, Darcie Glazer, and Edward Glazer.

All 6 are the sons of late former owner Malcolm Glazer. The Glazer family is estimated to have a net worth of around $4.7 billion. The family also owns the majority shares of an American football team Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Conor McGregor has a growing net worth of $120 million at the moment He made a lot of money while fighting the famous boxer, Floyd Mayweather. ‘The Notorious’ made $85 million, boosting the popularity and his net worth.

McGregor is also the co-founder of the whiskey brand Proper No Twelve. Which according to reports has been sold to the beverage company Becle. Although McGregor has a lot of money in the bank, buying a giant club like Manchester United seems implausible.
