The UFC heavyweight contender, Alistair Overeem, is known for his imposing physique and striking skills. However, back in 2012, he tested positive for higher testosterone levels. The heavyweight contender left the UFC in 2021 and the Overeem joined Glory. Later in 2022, the fighter tested positive for a banned substance.  Recently, a photograph of the former Strikeforce champion 3 months after getting tested found its way to Twitter. The mixed martial arts fans were quick to notice the fighter’s weight loss. The fans were able to connect the dots between the loss in muscles and the test results from 2022.

Although he tested positive for banned substances, Overeem’s team revealed that the substance was a performance enhancer. Nonetheless, the run-in with the law caused a setback for the fighter.

The UFC heavyweight challenger’s physique has attracted the attention of the MMA community on multiple occasions. However, the drastic change in his appearance caused alarm bells to ring. Recently, a picture comparing how the fighter looked before he was tested compared with another photograph taken a couple of months later has appeared on the internet. The caption read, “What happened to Overeem? It’s only been 3 months #ufc.”

Immediately, the fans took to the comments and thought of the plausible reasons to justify the fighter’s appearance. Without a doubt, the world focused on drug testing and his appetite for horse meat.

Nonetheless, the concern for Overeem’s leaner looks have not escaped the fans.

Some fans opined that Overeem wasn’t on PEDs anymore. Hence, he looked a bit leaner and less bulky.

Furthermore, a few fans shed some light on his image as a horse meat eater.

However, some fans focused on the lighting and angle of the photos. 

One fan believed that Overeem had increased body fat now. 

Although it has been three months since the fighter was last tested by the agencies, Overeem still seems to be on a low profile. Doubtlessly, the fans indeed anticipate the fighter’s next MMA fight.

Back in November 2022, right after Alistair Overeem’s kickboxing win against Badr Hari, tested positive for a banned substance. Surprisingly, the substance didn’t align with the standard performance-enhancing drugs like testosterone. While the world was looking at the fighter with judgmental eyes, his team clarified the reality of the situation.

Overeem’s team made a statement that the substance found in the warrior’s test was in fact not a performance-enhancing substance. Without a doubt, the support came at a crucial moment that overlooked jeopardizing the fighter’s title shot in Glory.
