‘Chaos’ along with ‘Gamebred’ and Poirier was a part of the American Top Team and Covington and Masvidal were good friends back then. However, Masvidal and Covington have had a rivalry since, meanwhile ‘Gamebred’ and Poirier share a great relationship.

Therefore, it came as no surprise that Masvidal stepped in to defend his teammate and friend. He wrote, “Why don’t you post the video of @DustinPoirier dropping you with a body shot? Always hating on people with power #supernecessary.”

Masvidal talks about how Poirier had dropped ‘Çhaos’ via a body shot. As the three fighters used to train together and were a part of ATT at the same time. It is a high possibility that ‘The Diamond’ and Covington sparred together on multiple occasions.

What’s next for Colby Covington, Dustin Poirier, and Jorge Masvidal?

Dustin Poirier is just days away from competing in one of the biggest fights of his career. ‘The Diamond’ is all set to face Conor McGregor at the UFC 264 main event. This will be the third fight between the two fighters and Poirier has been working very hard to win the fight.

Colby Covington meanwhile hasn’t competed in the UFC since September 2020. In his last fight at UFC Vegas 11, ‘Chaos’ faced Tyron Woodley and had won via a 5th round TKO. Since then Covington has been looking to get a title rematch against Kamaru Usman. Finally, Dana White has announced that if all goes well Covington will face ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ later this year.

While Covington is expecting a fight against Usman, ‘Gamebred’ lost his last fight against Usman at UFC 261. Now Masvidal is looking to return to action soon and is looking to fight either Nate Diaz or Covington on his return. However, there has not been any official announcement regarding Masvidal’s next fight yet.
