“Exciting Things to Come”- Manager Comments on Conor McGregor’s UFC Return

Despite Conor McGregor being listed as a retired fighter, the buzz around the Irish megastar never ceases in the MMA world. ESPN’s Ariel Helwani took to Twitter and reported that Conor McGregor and his camp are excited about some recent news. Chiefly, UFC President Dana White spoke out on several trending topics in MMA and also mentioned Conor McGregor.

The long-time boss of the UFC revealed that there were certain plans in the works for ‘The Notorious’. However, he didn’t provide any significant details on the plans, thus sending fans in a loop.

“We’re actually working on some fun stuff for Conor at the beginning of next year. He should be back next year,” White said on ESPN’s “SportsCenter. “I’m not saying he’s coming back to fight guaranteed, but we’re talking about some stuff.”

White also spoke to TSN’s Aaron Bronsteter and reiterated a similar sentiment about the sport’s biggest star.

“I came up with an idea a couple days ago, and I reached out to him to see what he thought, and he was interested. So, we’re kicking some stuff around. It’s not done. When it’s done, I would love to share the idea with you when it’s ready to roll. It’s just an idea right now. Yeah, late 2020 or early 2021.”

Conor McGregor and company on board?

Famed journalist and reporter, Ariel Helwani let it be known that McGregor’s manager Audie Attar released a statement. The high profile manager expressed an interest in the ‘fun things’ that were being planned by the UFC. Moreover, it seems as though McGregor could truly see a return to action by early 2021.

‘The Notorious’ announced his retirement following UFC 250, and that news came straight out of left field. Fans and media members have been speculating that Conor would return to action once fans were allowed into the venue. Given the circumstances of the announcement, it’s highly likely that this theory may play out.

Conor McGregor is coming off a spectacular 40 second TKO win over Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone back in January. He looks to be in top shape to actively compete, and fans will certainly hope to see him make a comeback.
