

Kevin Lee was once the interim title challenger in the UFC lightweight division. But he had to leave the promotion in 2021 unceremoniously and things appeared to be sour between him and the promotion. Since then, times have changed and Lee might soon be seen in the UFC again. Even before confirmation about his comeback in the UFC, fight offers have started coming in. A similar offer has come from a former UFC fighter who extended the offer for Dana White. Will Brooks had a small career in the UFC, but he showed his prowess across promotions.

In a tweet that he posted after speculations of Lee coming back to the UFC, Brooks asked UFC president Dana White to resign him into the UFC. He offered to fight Lee in his first fight in the UFC as a warm-up. One of the bigger victories in Brooks’ career has come against TUF 31 coach Michael Chandler.

Will Brooks defeated Michael Chandler twice in Bellator MMA: Once by decision and by a technical knock-out in their second fight. He now looked ready to return to the UFC. In his tweet, Brooks wrote, “Alright @danawhite here’s the plan… You resign me and I’ll be @MoTownPhenom warm up fight, you know get his legs back under him a little.”

While there are no fights confirmed for Kevin Lee yet, it is speculated that he will be seen in spring this year. Lee had shared pictures with the UFC top brass recently that confirm that a return deal has been signed.
Kevin Lee changes career path after a change in management
Kevin Lee, moving to the UFC, comes on the back of Lee changing his management. The agency that Lee earlier was signed with disbanded its MMA department and got into Hollywood. Lee then went on to sign with star manager Ali Abdelaziz. The move has now got him a new contract with the UFC.

Whether Kevin Lee and Will Brooks get to face each other in the UFC is a mystery. Fans will surely get to see Lee in action soon. He currently sits on a Pro-MMA record that reads, 19-7-0. The fighter has faced the likes of Tony Ferguson and Charles Oliveira in the cage and the experience will definitely come in handy when he starts his second stint at the UFC.
