Francis Ngannou versus Ciryl Gane at UFC 270 is going to be a huge heavyweight bout between two former training partners. Ngannou’s new coach Eric Nicksick had quite a lot to say about Ngannou’s emotions, as the fight is just around the corner.
Nicksick, who is of the opinion that ‘The Predator’ is cool and collected and that he has a Mike Tyson kind of air, spoke to ESPN MMA’s Phil Murphy about the champion’s upcoming bout.

He said, “He doesn’t really show a whole lot of emotion. It’s hard to kind of give the right analogy for it, but it’s almost like a shark just cruising through the water, not really bothered by anything. And at any moment he goes, and it’s just like that. Even in the back, in the warmup, Phil, he’s just very calm, very collected and I think he’s just gathering his thoughts and getting through the process.”
“But man, he’s shown the same guy that I’ve seen in the last four fights. Nothing’s really stood out to me that has been alarming. He’s just this calm, cool, collect guy… It’s just something else when you get him wrapped up and get him in the back of the house and get him warmed up and ready to fight because this has this Mike Tyson effect to it… He’s ready to go when it’s time, when the lights come on.”

So it looks like Ngannou is well-prepared for a blockbuster fight against ‘Bon Gamin’ Gane. The fight will be the main event at UFC 270 on January 22.
What does Francis Ngannou need to be careful of?
While Ngannou might be the champion, Gane is an extremely tough fighter. ‘Bon Gamin’ earned a TKO win over Derrick Lewis to become the interim UFC heavyweight champion at UFC 265.

Hence, there seem to be some aspects that the fighter might have to be mindful of. Ngannou’s coach feels that Gane is a very efficient fighter, and this is something that stands out to him.

However, coach Nicksick is one of the best in the game. The fact that he is aware of Gane’s strength shows that Ngannou’s game plan is going to be tailored to counter the challenger’s swift movement and speed.
