“He Messaged Me Saying He Was Sorry”- Conor McGregor Reveals Messages from Football Star Sergio Ramos

Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier are all set to meet in the octagon for their trilogy fight on July 10th. In a recent UFC Embedded episode, Conor McGregor shared that Sergio Ramos could not accept tickets offered for the fight.

McGregor added that the Spanish footballer player reached out to him saying that he is signing for a new club and cannot attend UFC 264.

Conor McGregor is a long-time football fan and has shown his support for Manchester United. Over recent years, the Irishman and the Spaniard have developed a friendship on social media.

It started with Sergio Ramos sharing a video of him celebrating a goal in training with McGregor’s iconic strut. McGregor responded by sharing a video of him scoring goals. Ramos even invited ‘The Notorious’ one to train with him.

After being told about Italy beating Spain in UEFA Euro 2020, McGregor’s teammate asked him about his friend that plays for the national team.

To this, McGregor responded by saying that Sergio Ramos apologized for not being able to show up for the UFC 264 event. This comes after Ramos’ recent transfer to PSG.

He messaged me saying he was sorry. He’s open a new club, he’s not going to be able to make it. He thought he had more time,” said Conor McGregor.

UFC 264 set to be the biggest event of the year

Dana White revealed that UFC 264 is on track to be the biggest PPV event in the promotion’s history. He added the event is going to be more star-studded than ever before.

White also shared that celebrities like Justin Bieber, Dave Chappelle, Kevin Durant, Odell Beckham Jr, Machine Gun Kelly, Mel Gibson, Megan Fox, Kourtney Kardashian, Travis Barker.

Even Donald Trump will be in attendance at the mega-event. “This fight this weekend has more celebrities coming than any fight ever. We got more pre-buys than any fight in UFC history,” said Dana White.

Dana White mentioned that UFC 264 has recorded higher pre-buys than all other events. He acknowledged the global star power of the fighters on the card.

He credited the PPV success to the headline matchup between two of the best lightweights in the UFC lightweight division. White also highlighted Conor McGregor’s massive following and popularity as a factor.
