Will Conor McGregor be able to make an official comeback to the Octagon ever again? This question was supposed to be answered at the UFC 303 when Dana White scheduled a fight between ‘Mystic Mac’ and Michael Chandler but an unfortunate toe injury on the part of McGregor forced him to pull out of his fight. The 36-year-old made a few headlines after his appearance on a Kick stream for Duelbits. As much as he issued callouts and shoutouts, his shenanigans on the livestream only served to diminish any hope of an imminent return to the Octagon in the coming months.

While having a conversation with ‘Submission Radio’, MMA journalist, Luke Thomas was asked about his opinion on Conor McGregor’s potential resurgence. The host of ‘Submission Radio’ recently shared a video of ‘Notorious’ partying on a livestream and asked him about his comeback. After witnessing the video, Thomas was speechless as he emphasized that ‘Notorious’ has transitioned way past from a professional fighter.
“He’s slowly morphing into a guy at Buffalo Wild Wings who just has opinions on MMA. That’s who he’s becoming. I mean, I don’t know. He’s not sober there, so it’s not even, you know—I’m not necessarily judging him for it, per se. But what do I make of it? This is the only consistent opinion I’ve been able to form about Conor McGregor: the guy is clearly in another stage of his life, and I think he doesn’t fully accept that part yet,” said Luke Thomas.
Regardless, Thomas further emphasized that Conor McGregor is not at a stage where he would have to work extremely hard for what he wants to achieve, and unlike other fighters, who still train, ‘Mystic Mac’ is enjoying his life to the fullest now, “But he clearly is not fighting; it’s just not a principal—or even a tangential—part of his life right now. I don’t think he’s really made peace with that yet. So, you know, what do I think? He’s not sober, and he’s not fighting. He’s just out there drinking and smoking weed and having MMA opinions. He’s become an MMA fan now. That’s just what it is. Do you think he fights again?”

While moving from one place to another, the former dual-weight champion of the world stumbled upon Ariel Helwani, who was there to capture the moments for the DAZN broadcasting team. As Helwani got hold of the former dual weight champ, he asked him about his comeback plan to which McGregor asserted that he would be making a comeback at the start of next year, “It will be 2025.”
He further added, “We will see. My opponent that I had scheduled has been matched, it is what it is. I take it on board and rock on. My job is to go to the gym and be in shape. Whenever it is and wherever it is, I will be 100 percent ready.” Conor McGregor has two fights left in his contract, so it’s astute that he will have to compete before moving to any other promotions. Regardless, what’s your take on the hubbub? State your thoughts in the comments below.
