Women in the world of mixed martial arts often look at Ronda Rousey as an inspirational figure. Prior to her fight against Norma Dumont, the 29-year-old UFC WMMA contender, Chelsea Chandler, recently revealed how she was inspired by the former UFC champion.

Talks have begun to rise about the first female UFC champion making a return to the UFC. The veteran UFC play-by-play commentator, Jon Anik, also seemed to support Rousey’s comeback. With the $21 billion UFC-WWE merger, netizens believe that Ronda’s return to the UFC would be easier than ever.

Chandler recently appeared in an interview with ‘The Allstar’. Therein, she was asked whether she felt like the women in the MMA world lacked the ‘killer instinct’. She said, “Yeah, I do. I do. And that’s why I feel like the women don’t get as many eyes as they should. You know, Ronda Rousey was out there and she was killing chicks. You know, she was finishing fights, she was going forward. She wasn’t really knocking people out, maybe Bethe Correia. But she was looking for the finish. And she wasn’t in there to just get a paycheck, and I feel like that’s a lot of them. And I’m in there to finish. I train all the time and I’m always looking for the finish, and I train to make sure I have enough energy to go for the finish.”

Chandler believed that while women didn’t receive enough attention inside the Octagon, Rousey wrote a completely different story. She focused on finishing her fights instead of simply eyeing the paychecks. She further added that she trained to finish the fights just like her inspiration.
