Alexander Volkanovski is gearing up to face Yair Rodriguez at UFC 290 for the undisputed featherweight championship this weekend. During a training session, MMA outlet ‘TheMacLife’ caught hold of ‘The Great’ and asked for his take on the super fight between billionaires Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg.

The news about a potential fight between Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg has taken the sporting world by storm. Meanwhile, Alexander Volkanovski was involved in a training session with the Meta CEO earlier this year in the Metaverse. After sparring with Zuckerberg, the featherweight champion had some great things to say about the 39-year-old.

Mark Zuckerberg’s athleticism surprised Alexander Volkanovski

During the interview with ‘TheMacLife’, Volkanovski mentioned how surprised he was to see the 39-year-old billionaire as fit as he was. Moreover, he is bidding on Zuckerberg to beat Elon Musk. ‘The Great’ said, “Well, I am backing Zuck all the way. Like, man, to tell you, he’s a bit of an athlete.” Volkanovski caught up with the Meta CEO occasionally in the past, and Zuckerberg has left a lasting impression on the Australian fighter. He added, “The few couple of times I have hanged out with him, I was very impressed with how athletic he is and how fit he is.”

Furthermore, the UFC featherweight champion mentioned that Mark Zuckerberg’s athleticism compliments his martial art skills. That fitness will not only help him fight but also help him in the long run. “He’s actually really fit, and that goes a long way and he does martial arts on top of that,” stated Alexander Volkanovski.

‘The Great’ might be in Zuck’s corner

Volkanovski spoke about the obvious size difference between Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg. But given that the Meta CEO is already well-versed in martial arts, the fight could turn out to be a balanced one. The featherweight champion said, “Obviously, Elon’s a lot bigger. So that’s where, you know, they can make it more of an even playing field.”

In addition to backing Mark Zuckerberg, Alexander Volkanovski also hinted that he might just consider being in his corner for the fight against Elon Musk. He added, “I am backing Zuck all the way. And I might even be in his corner, too.”

Elon Musk was recently seen training with former UFC champion and Hall of Famer Georges St-Pierre. GSP may even corner him for the fight. And now it seems like Mark Zuckerberg has found his cornerman, too, as Volkanovski is interested in doing the same for the 39-year-old. We will have to wait and see how that pans out for both camps.
