Khabib Nurmagomedov retired with a spectacular undefeated professional MMA record of 29-0. The greatest lightweight has had an illustrious MMA career in the UFC. ‘The Eagle’ recently opened up about his emotions on his UFC career.
Nurmagomedov defeated Al Iaquinta at UFC 223 and became the UFC lightweight champion. Then ‘The Eagle’ went on having three successful title defenses against Conor McGregor, Dustin Poirier, and Justin Gaethje. His fight against Gaethje at UFC 254 was his last fight.
Every UFC fighter’s goal is to become the champion and not to lose. And Nurmagomedov shared the same dream. As already mentioned above, ‘The Eagle’ successfully achieved his dream and retired as the undefeated and the longest-reigning UFC lightweight champion.

“It’s Some Sort Of An Addiction” – Khabib Nurmagomedov Opens Up About His Retirement From the Octagon
In a recent interview with UFC Russia, the interviewer asked Nurmagomedov what’s next for him as he has already achieved his goal. That is when he opened up about his UFC career.
‘The Eagle’ said – “Well, of course. In our sports, it’s the highest peak to win the belt, to become the best fighter. I reached this top, and you know, I didn’t feel much satisfaction, to be honest. I’m sure many people think ‘Wow!’ and so on. But I didn’t feel what I expected to feel. I thought I would get more satisfaction in a way, but I didn’t”.

What’s next for Khabib Nurmagomedov?
Several UFC fighters are surrounded by people who help them in many ways, such as training. Some of them are the ones who started their MMA journey together. It is the same case with Nurmagomedov. ‘The Eagle’ plans to help those people who were with him during his UFC career.

In the same interview, Nurmagomedov said – “Now I have guys around me who started with me, and they were with me from the very beginning. I would like to support them to let them achieve their goals and to become successful in the way they want”.
