A man stabbed the famous novelist, Salman Rushdie, in a shocking incident. The writer was giving a lecture in New York state when the episode took place. Authorities airlifted him and rushed him to a hospital for treatment. Amongst the uproar of this incident, Joe Rogan shared the writer’s famous quote on Instagram.
Meghan Murphy originally posted it, and Rogan reposted it. It read, “The moment you declare a set of ideas to be immune from criticism, satire, derision, or contempt, freedom of thought becomes impossible.”

As reported by ‘Reuters‘, after emergency surgery, the writer was on a ventilator. He was also unable to speak. Several people around the world condemned the attack.

The 75-year-old was about to give a talk on artistic freedom in New York’s Chautauqua Institution. That’s when a man charged onto the stage and attacked him. Authorities quickly arrested the man.
Further, a doctor who was present in the audience helped the famous novelist until help arrived.
