There are several fighters that come to mind when people talk about the greatest UFC fighter of all time. There are fighters like Demetrious Johnson, Georges St-Pierre, and even Khabib Nurmagomedov. However, UFC commentator and renowned podcaster, Joe Rogan, claims that Jon Jones‘s win over Ciryl Gane has ended the GOAT debate.

Jones debuted in UFC when he was only 21 years old in 2008. Moreover, he became the youngest UFC champion after defeating Mauricio Rua to win the light heavyweight title at just 23 years old. Since then, ‘Bones’ went on to continue collecting accolades under the UFC banner.

‘Bones’ displayed an extraordinary performance at UFC 285 after defeating Ciryl Gane in under three minutes of the opening round of the fight. There were many UFC fighters and celebrities who came to witness Jones‘s comeback, along with the most stacked fight card of 2023. ‘Bones’ surely didn’t fail to live up to the hype of his return. Moreover, the UFC commentator thinks this epic victory has put the 35-year-old at the top of the best fighters’ debate. He talked about it in the latest episode of ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’.

Joe Rogan claims Jon Jones over Georges St-Pierre as the greatest of all time

Joe Rogan once used to claim that Georges St-Pierre was the greatest of all time. But he mentioned that Kamaru Usman has surpassed him in the welterweight division since the latter faced better competition than the UFC Hall of Famer. He said, “I just think that the level of competition he [Kamaru Usman] faces is higher [than GSP].” He added, “GSP was so good he raised the bar. But if you look at GSP’s victories, he beats very good guys. But the guys Kamaru Usman beat …I think they are better.”

The 55-year-old claims that ‘Bones’ has cemented his legacy as the best after his UFC 285 performance. He said, “Jon Jones is the GOAT. Now it’s undeniable.” Rogan added, “There was all this debate until he submitted Ciryl Gane and became the heavyweight champion. No, once can f*** with that.”

Joe Rogan also mentioned that GSP is one of the best fighters ever. But he clearly stated that the Hall of Famer isn’t the best in his own category, as well as all the divisions combined. That title goes, in fact, to Jon ‘Bones’ Jones. Many people have also started to talk about the current UFC heavyweight champion as the greatest of all time.
