Jon Jones Next Fight is Almost Set- Dana White Provides an Update

Former UFC light-heavyweight champion Jon Jones will make his move to heavyweight in 2021. ‘Bones‘ is looking for new challenges in a quest to regain his motivation. Many believed he looked lackluster in his recent outings in the Octagon.

After dominating the 205 lbs division of the UFC for over a decade, he has decided it is the perfect time for him to take over the heavyweight division.

Jones wants to conquer the heavyweight gold in order to further solidify his legacy as the greatest fighter of all time. UFC President Dana White recently clarified his plans for the prizefighter in 2021, reiterating his belief that Jones will get a shot at the belt right away. Champion Stipe Miocic will look to defend his belt against Francis Ngannou later this year, probably at UFC 260.

“Heavyweight. Jon Jones is going to move to heavyweight. We’re going to have Stipe vs. Francis, and the winner of that will probably fight Jon Jones,” said White.

“The guy’s been the king of the light heavyweight division forever. I think he thinks it’s time to move up to heavyweight. He knows his body, he knows his abilities, he knows better than anybody else does. But it’s impressive. Let me tell you, who wants to fight Francis Ngannou? The answer is nobody, okay? Nobody wants to fight that guy. But Jon Jones does. Pretty impressive.”

“He seems like he’s in the right place. He’s doing all the right things right now, he’s saying all the right things. If everything plays out for us the way that it’s looking, in our 2021 we’re going to see a lot of Jon Jones,” White further added.

Jones looks more than ready for his heavyweight debut next. He has packed on some significant size to his frame. If he can assert his dominance on the heavyweights, there will be no one in the history of MMA with his sort of legacy.
