However, when it came to the greatest UFC welterweight fighter, there used to seldom be much debate. Georges St-Pierre had unanimously established himself as the greatest in that division. Things, however, have changed now with Kamaru Usman making his claim for the greatest welterweight of all time.

In recent years Usman has been one of the best the UFC has seen; the fighter has never lost in the UFC ever. He has won all his UFC fights and has won and then defended the UFC welterweight title 4 times. Recently, manager Ali Abdelaziz shared his views on a potential fight between the two saying, “I think it’s a good fight; I think Georges still trains, he’s in shape. But I think Kamaru knocks him out, I really do. This is why Georges will not take the fight. You know I love Georges, but I think Kamaru, right now, will knock anybody out. It doesn’t matter.

“He is hard to hit; he has great wrestling. I think. It’s an intriguing fight, he has a very good ground game. Honestly real good fight because Kamaru is 34, they are not big in age; I think it’s an intriguing fight.”

But I’m telling you if you gonna compare who’s the greatest welterweight of all time now, you cannot say Georges St-Pierre. Because GSP has been in a split decision, been in close fight, Kamaru Usman is killing everybody. And he’s been knocked out, he’s been submitted, Kamaru has not been touched.”
