After wrapping up the successful financial year 2021, UFC honchos are preparing an even better schedule for the next year. Recently, the UFC reported several fight cards for its pay-per-view events in February and March. Meanwhile, the first fight for an unnamed UFC event in late spring has been out. Reportedly, a strawweight clash between UFC star Mackenzie Dern and 115 -pounds standout Tecia Torres is in the works.

MMA Ideas reported the news first, which was later confirmed by WMMA Rankings. Notably, Tecia Torres is coming off a victory majority decision to win over Angela Hill at UFC 265: Lewis vs. Gane. At present, the Florida native is riding on a three-fight winning streak, with remarkable wins over Brianna Van Buren, Sam Hughes, and Angela Hill. ‘The Tiny Tornado’ made her UFC debut back in 2014 and currently has 13 wins and 5 losses registered in her MMA career.

Dern made the claims in conversation with MMA fighting, and also insisted that this loss was a ‘good moment. “I think it was really important this loss because I don’t think I was ready. At the time, I thought I was ready. But once I realized I lost, it’s OK. This loss was at a good moment.” Mackenzie Dern said.

“Honestly, now I think whoever is in the top five, I think I can beat any of them. Obviously, I can’t make mistakes or things like that, but I think Mackenzie focused, training can beat any of the girls no matter what, no matter who’s got the belt. So, we’ll be prepared.” She continued.
