Conor McGregor wants to fight until the day that he dies. The Irishman declared in a recent interview that he will continue fighting “to the grave, my man, to the motherf***ing grave” since he has many potential blockbuster fights on the horizon with his old rivals who are the same age as him.

His upcoming opponent, Michael Chandler responded to this on Twitter, promising to oblige ‘Notorious’ and implied he would kill the former two-division champion in their upcoming fight. And the former Bellator champion has reiterated his violent threats to Conor McGregor in a recent social media post.

Chandler promises blood in a bout against Conor McGregor

Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler appeared as rival head coaches on last year’s season of ‘The Ultimate Fighter’. After a contentious season that saw the two get into a physical altercation and Team Chandler thoroughly outclassed Team McGregor, it was expected they would fight soon, as is customary for ‘TUF’ coaches.

They were indeed slated to face each other in December last year, as McGregor publicly announced on several occasions, but the bout was postponed for undisclosed reasons. After several months of uncertainty and the UFC shooting down several dates from McGregor, the Irishman finally revealed that he will face Chandler in June at the top of UFC 303.

And Chandler, who has been waiting for the past two years to fight McGregor not just because it would be the biggest payday of his UFC career. The former Bellator champion has seemingly grown to detest the Irishman and has promised to break McGregor’s jaw and make him retire.

And Chandler has reiterated his violent intentions for the former champion yet again, posting a Story on his Instagram account with a picture of himself and McGregor facing each other with the caption “there will be blood”. However, contrary to Chandler’s threats, McGregor has no plans to retire anytime soon and has even floated a possible fight date for another Nate Diaz bout.

McGregor wants to fight Nate Diaz at UFC 306

On being asked about a possible trilogy with his fan-favorite rival Nate Diaz, Conor McGregor confirmed that he was. The two men have fought twice, with each winning once. ‘Mac’ responded, stating that he wants to fight Michael Chandler at UFC 303 and then Diaz at the legendary dome in Las Vegas on Mexican Independence Day in September at UFC 306.

However, Diaz, not under a UFC contract at the moment, is rematching Jorge Masvidal in a boxing match and it is uncertain whether he will re-sign with the Las Vegas-based promotion. A fourth bout against Dustin Poirier, however, is still very much on the table and since Poirier may be fighting for the lightweight title soon, their fourth fight may be for the 155-pound title!
