Before his move to the UFC 36-year-old Page was a Bellator superstar. His performances at Bellator gathered a lot of attention, which caught the attention of UFC CEO Dana White, and he roped in the British fighter. With a career record of 22-2 ‘Venom’ has now caught the attention of MMA fans all around the world as well. Any other fighter in his position would pick someone whose style they are familiar with, but when MVP was presented with the option of going against Wonderboy, he revealed he doesn’t want to face Stephen Thompson right now in his career, claiming it would be a potentially boring fight.

He said, ” You know what’s interesting and I always tell this a positive and a positive doesn’t always make a positive. Because we are such similar style fighters, it could potentially be a boring fight. Because we are gonna fake it. We are gonna know so much, we are gonna be reading so much. Only really elite athletes be, looking at it and say what just happened. I don’t actually think it’s gonna be a great fight and I love that guy too much to want to kick him. I don’t know the future, we are all prized fighters, so whatever happens, happens. But right now, that’s not really a focus.”

‘Venom’ wants to go for the Welterweight title next

The welterweight division is one of the most entertaining divisions in the UFC and features some of the best talent on the UFC roster. With, the entry of MVP, the division has only become tougher for everyone involved. So watch out for those spinning elbows. However, there’s one fighter whom he wants to face next, and it’s the champion and fellow Briton, Leon Edwards. After his impressive win at UFC 299, the 36-year-old now plans on taking on ‘Rocky’.

In an interview, he said, “It’s more so, like I said, the legacy of what that means for the UK – two UK fighters fighting for a title, I don’t think they’ve seen that before. And I like to inspire, so it says to everybody back in the UK that is training, amateur fighters that are training, that is very much achievable. I think what Leon Edwards has done, his journey is unbelievable. But that, married with my style, my charisma, and the energy I can bring, the goal is to sell out a stadium somewhere in the UK – that would be a memorable occasion.”
