Michael Chandler confirms Conor McGregor fight in the summer

Patiently waiting for the fight against Conor McGregor, Michael Chandler recently shared a tweet for the fans to ask him anything they wanted. One fan raised the question about whether his fight against ‘The Notorious’ would take place in the summer of 2024. Chandler gave a positive reply by stating, ‘Yep!’ Although there is no confirmation from Dana White regarding that fight, ‘Iron’ appears to be confident about the summer clash.

Moreover, Conor McGregor also confirmed that he has been busy with his drug testing program. He has become the most tested UFC fighter in 2024 already and hopes to fight in the summer, something that he announced on New Year’s Eve of 2024. It remains to be seen how Dana White navigates this situation, given that his biggest star has been on the shelf for almost three years now.

Dana White ranks Usman vs Masvidal 2 above Conor vs Khabib

Dana White’s promotion is set to make history on April 13th. They will be hosting their triple-century pay-per-view event, featuring some of the best fighters on the roster. But before UFC 300, the promotion’s official website posted an article where the UFC CEO ranked his top five best PPV events of all, and it came as a surprise to many people.

We all know that Conor McGregor vs Khabib Nurmagomedov was the biggest fight in the history of the UFC, which set all kinds of PPV records. However, Dana White claimed that the rematch at UFC 261 between former welterweight champion Kamaru Usman and former contender Jorge Masvidal was the best PPV event since it was the first time that the UFC could have fans in the arena following the Covid-19 pandemic.

Frank Mir claimed to be heavily underpaid for the Brock Lesnar fight

Frank Mir fought Brock Lesnar for the UFC heavyweight title in 2009 at UFC 100. It was their second fight under the UFC banner and the latter’s first title defense. Lesnar did not only avenge his loss to Mir but also pocketed a handsome paycheck. However, it was not the same for his opponent that night. The 44-year-old former UFC fighter recently opened up about his extremely low payout at UFC 100 in an exclusive interview with ‘MMA Fighting‘.

Frank Mir claimed to have helped the UFC make more money than the rematch between Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder. The UFC 100 event went on to make $71 million in revenue. However, Mir was disappointed with the amount of money he received from Dana White and Co. after putting on a commendable performance.

“I think when it finally dawned on me was the Deontay Wilder [rematch] with Tyson Fury. We still did more buys than they did, me and Brock, and then I’m looking at the pay-per-view cost. OK, the money was there. Who did it go to? Seeing these guys make $40 million combined. I’m like wow. Brock obviously made seven figures off it. I think he made $2.5 million. But I didn’t even make a million,” said Frank Mir.

There have been several instances where some fighters claimed to have been paid much less than their opponents, but that responsibility rests on Dana White’s shoulder on whether there will be a change in the payout structure in the future.
