Robin Black Responds to Francis Ngannou’s Comments on Boxing and UFC Pay

The UFC had scheduled Jon Jones to fight Francis Ngannou when he moved to the Heavyweight division. However, the fight had to be canceled as Jones claimed he was being underpaid for a fight of such magnitude.

Since then many fighters have talked about how they are not paid enough for what they do. Now joining the list of these fighters is UFC Heavyweight Champion Francis Ngannou.

After the much-expected exhibition match between Floyd Mayweather and Logan Paul ended. It shocked people to learn the amount of money the fighters earned from the fight. Recently ‘The Predator’ also took to Twitter and shared his surprise at the same.

Ngannou wrote, “It’s crazy to think that Logan Paul (0-1) just made $20M on a boxing exhibition. WHAT ARE WE DOING WRONG?”

Since Ngannou’s tweet, people from all over the world have been talking about the same. Many fans and critics have shared their views on the pay difference between UFC fighters and boxers. Now MMA analyst and former fighter Robin Black has taken to Twitter to talk about the same.

Black explained to Ngannou why the UFC does not pay him the same amount as someone like Logan Paul gets for a fight. He wrote, “You are contracted to a corporation who’s present business model only works if the combatants are paid a fraction of current comparative market value.

While many people have tried to share their views on the monetary issues of the UFC fighters. This explanation from Black seems to be the most accurate explanation of the situation.

What did Francis Ngannou earn compared to Logan Paul and Floyd Mayweather?

Where Logan Paul raked in $20 million for fighting in the exhibition match. Floyd Mayweather is reported to have earned $30 million even before stepping into the ring. While Ngannou just had the biggest victory in his UFC career and for the fight, earned just $730,000.

Thus, this exhibition event brought to the fore the difference in pay between boxers and UFC fighters.
