Recently, he has made headlines again with the launch of his newest venture, Power Slap – a reality combat show where people slap each other to win the ‘Power Slap League’.

However, the show has faced heavy criticism for its lack of safety measures and the brutal nature of the contest. Dana White reveals the show’s investment

Dana White was a guest at Robbie Fox’s ‘My Mom’s Basement Interviews’, where he talked about Power Slap in deep detail. He also revealed the exact amount of money that is invested in the show. “This isn’t a UFC thing, this is me and the Fertitta Brothers, right? So we funded the first season just like we did the first season of The Ultimate Fighter. We put up the money, and it was f*cking 10 million dollars, same as f*cking TUF,” said White.

The Ultimate Fighter’s first season came out way back in 2005, and it had Chuck Liddell and Randy Couture as coaches.

As per Dana White, he has started something new and has pumped a good amount of investment into the venture. White also added that some competitors were earlier doing the same thing in “bars and basements” for no money.

Dana White on the safety of Power Slap

White also talked in great detail about the safety of his show. He highlighted the fact that since he has taken over UFC (2001), there have been zero deaths and serious injuries. However, according to White, boxing has seen 34 deaths in the same time period.

“Nobody has a better safety health and safety record than I do,” the UFC president said confidently. White also explained that all contestants are put through the necessary medical tests before, during, and after their ‘slap’ fight.
