“Shut up McTapper” – WWE Stars Including Becky Lynch & Drew McIntyre React to Conor McGregor’s WrestleMania Insult
Conor McGregor decided to set Twitter on fire once more. As most of his tweets do, this one began to rattle and draw replies from WWE stars for what he said. The Irishman has previously expressed his opinion of the superiority of the UFC over WWE, but has somewhat begun to lean into the idea of a WWE appearance.
‘The Notorious’ Conor McGregor has previously berated and taken shots at various WWE stars such as John Cena. Talking about how they take part in gimmicks, he stated that the UFC and the world of MMA is the “real thing.”

Recently, McGregor tweeted, “Why wasn’t I at Wrestlemania? They all fear me, that’s why.” After McGregor tweeted about why he wasn’t at WrestleMania, this is what certain WWE stars had to say about it.
Hey man. I could have used you. Bianca brought an army. Next year?
— The Man (@BeckyLynchWWE) April 4, 2022
Becky Lynch sees that as a positive tweet and wants McGregor for WrestleMania next year following her loss to Bianca Belair. Sharing the same nationality as Conor McGregor, Lynch is coming from a place of camaraderie for the Irishman.
WWE star Drew McIntyre, however, had something else to say.
Shut up McTapper https://t.co/YufjQU34xd
— Drew McIntyre (@DMcIntyreWWE) April 4, 2022
Keeping it short, McIntyre used the ‘McTapper’ card to take a shot at Conor McGregor.
Nic Nemeth, famously known as Dolph Ziggler, also replied to Conor McGregor’s tweet.
bc even I can’t cut down to fly weight pic.twitter.com/R8eQCncRtX
— Nic Nemeth (@HEELZiggler) April 4, 2022
Calling McGregor’s weight class “flyweight” might have been on purpose to point out that the Irishman is a lot lighter and smaller in comparison to the rest of the WWE stars.
Writer David Coulson for the Click.gg tweeted,
No one asked
— David Coulson | The Click (@ItzDoodles) April 4, 2022
The writer thinks McGregor stated an opinion that no one asked for.

How would Conor McGregor do in the WWE?
Conor McGregor’s fan following and capacity for creating and driving hype around his fights are unparalleled. Despite fighting rarely, Conor McGregor still remains the biggest draw in all of MMA.
Given how much the WWE relies on entertainment more than the sport itself, McGregor is an amazing choice. However, he would have to go through a lot of training, as professional wrestling is a lot more different from what happens in combat sports, such as MMA.
