Joe Rogan has a plan if he ever faces a ‘lizard man’! The podcast host and UFC color commentator recently hosted comedian Bobby Lee as a guest on his show the JRE (Joe Rogan Experience) episode no. 2090. Both men have a long history together and share common interests like their love for science fiction T.V. shows and movies.

As such, their conversation touched upon their thoughts on the original ‘Star Trek’ series which first premiered in 1966. During the discussion, Rogan pointed out a scene where Captain Kirk battles a ‘Gorn’, a humanoid lizard creature. And with his extensive martial arts experience, Rogan revealed how he would take on such an opponent!

Joe Rogan critiqued the fight scene from Star Trek and described it as one of the “dumbest ever”, comparable to a scene from another show at the time, ‘The Six Million Dollar Man’ in which the main character takes on ‘Bigfoot’!

Analyzing the scene where Captain Kirk faces a lizard man or ‘Gorn’, Rogan expressed confidence that he could defeat the slow lizard! He stated, “First of all this lizard is so goddamn slow, I would f*ck this lizard up. I would… look at this, I would f*ck him up dude.”

Rogan, known for his background in martial arts and powerful kicks, also revealed what he would do to beat the ‘lizard’. He stated, “I would be leg kicking him right now, whap, whap, take them knees out”.

But it wasn’t just the ‘lizard’ who found himself being criticized as Captain Kirk’s technique was also found to be lacking by Rogan who exclaimed, “Oh, what a sh*tty body kick” in response to Kirk’s attempt at the move on screen.

During the same conversation with Lee, Rogan exclaimed that while he is not a big fan of the show, he still enjoys watching it for the ‘nostalgia factor’. But while acknowledging his love for Star Trek, Rogan didn’t shy away from pointing out recurring flaws in the series. He criticized the series’ choreography, deeming it, “Picture perfect terrible choreography, everything about it is hilarious.”

Rogan’s critique extended to the Klingon species in the series, questioning their reliance on knives despite having advanced spaceships. He stated, “Is that crazy? They have spaceships, they still need knives?”

The podcast host also humorously highlighted the paradoxes in the Star Trek universe, such as the absence of the internet while having advanced teleportation technology! However, despite his criticisms, Rogan still acknowledged the show’s appeal, describing it as “still a good show” despite its perceived absurdities.
