In recent times, the biggest fight in the combat sports community isn’t the fight between two professional fighters, but the proposed clash of Billionaire Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk. It all started when the Meta CEO accepted the challenge from Twitter users to face his South Africa-born compatriot.

But with Zuckerberg revealing his ‘Twitter killer’ app Threads, it seems like it’s going to be a lot more personal now. The rivalry between the two tech juggernauts isn’t something new. Way back in 2016, Elon Musk helmed SpaceX’s Falcon 9 spaceship exploded with a Facebook satellite, costing the social media billions.

This incident led to a back-and-forth war of words between the two entrepreneurs. However, despite the obvious bad blood, things soon went cold. But this new rivalry to dominate social media has once again reignited the war, and it looks like UFC welterweight, Colby Covington, has chosen his side.

Colby Covington goes off on Mark Zuckerberg

Former NCAA Division 1 wrestler, Colby Covington, might be one of the best welterweights in the UFC’s current roster. But apart from his relentless pressure inside the octagon, the former interim champion is also known for his rather controversial opinions and flamboyant trash talks. Something which he uses to insult and roast his opponent to shambles. And this time, it’s Mark Zuckerberg on the receiving end.

The incident happened during one of his recent appearances on Submission Radio, where the former collegiate wrestler went off on Zuckerberg. Showing his contempt for the Meta CEO, Covington referred to him as somebody who wants to suppress free speech. Further, he also called him a thief and alleged that he stole the idea of Facebook.

In Covington’s own words:“He stole Facebook from the Winklevoss twins. So, if you guys knew your research, like you’d know that Zuckerberg is not a good person. He’s a thief, and you know, I’d love to train Elon to put him six feet deep.”

For those unaware, Covington was talking about the allegations on Mark Zuckerberg for stealing the idea of Facebook from the Winklevoss twins and Divya Narendra. Reportedly, the trio gave the task of coding to Zuckerberg for Facebook, something which was their idea.

Prior to the rant against Zuckerberg, Covington also laid out his future fight plans.

Title shot next for ‘Chaos’?

Before lighting up Mark Zuckerberg with insults, Colby Covington also talked about his future plans. If the former interim champion is to be believed, he will probably fight against Leon Edwards for the welterweight gold next. According to him, he deserves this title shot due to his work ethics, something for which he used his status as a backup during the championship bout as a testimony of his claim. This is surprising, given Covington has fought only once in the last year, beating Jorge Masvidal.

For anybody wondering, the said fight took place between Kamaru Usman and Leon Edwards for the UFC’s welterweight title. Covington made weight on short notice and was a backup in case either of the two fails to show up.

However, things went as planned, and Covington didn’t have to fight. Chaos himself has gone twice against Usman for the title. But despite giving the former champion a really tough fight, he came up short on both occasions.
