Taking a Look at Robbie Lawler’s Tattoos and the Meaning Behind Them

Robbie Lawler is a true veteran of MMA and has been competing since 2001. ‘Ruthless’ has till now competed in 44 MMA fights and has a record of (28-15). Lawler is a former UFC welterweight champion and has been a part of some great MMA fights throughout his career.

Recently, Lawler has not been in the best of form and has lost his last 4 UFC fights. Now, ‘Ruthless’ is all set to compete against Nick Diaz at the UFC 266 event on September 25, 2021. This will be the second fight between Diaz and Lawler. The pair had earlier faced each other at the UFC 47 event. Nick Diaz had won that fight via a 2nd round KO.

Therefore, this time around, Lawler will be hoping to get a victory over Diaz. As Lawler prepares to take on Diaz, we decided to take a look at various aspects of his career. And today we looked at the various tattoos Lawler has and what they mean to him.

Almost every time any individual gets a tattoo made on his body, there is mostly a reason behind the same. Sometimes the tattoo represents a fighter’s personality, while sometimes it may have some personal meaning for the fighter. Therefore, one can get to know much about an individual if they understand the meaning behind their tattoos.

Everything we know about Robbie Lawler’s tattoos

When anyone sees Robbie Lawler, the tattoo that immediately catches the eye is the one on his lower abdomen. ‘Ruthless’ has got the word ‘GLADIATOR’ inked right in the center of his abdomen. Lawler has often considered himself to be a Gladiator inside the Octagon and this tattoo is representative of the same.

The fighter also has a gladiator image tattoo on his left shoulder and bicep. It is clear from Lawler’s tattoo on his abdomen that he truly believes in being a ‘Gladiator.’ This becomes even more evident by the Gladiator tattoo Lawler has on his left shoulder and bicep.

Interestingly, after ‘Ruthless’ won the UFC title at UFC 181, he added a UFC belt to his already existing Gladiator tattoo. Lawler has 28 wins in his MMA career, 12 of which are 1st round finishes. Therefore, Lawler was known as the ‘Gladiator’ of MMA at one time, thus explaining his tattoos.

Lawler also has some Chinese symbols inked on his right shoulder and bicep. While the reason behind them is unknown, however, they are also bound to hold some meaning to the fighter.
