Charles Jourdain and Marcelo Rojo will clash in an exciting featherweight matchup at this weekend’s UFC Fight Night: Edwards vs Muhammad card. The Canadian, Jourdain, will make his first Octagon appearance since his split draw against Joshua Culibao in October 2020. The Argentine, Rojo, will make his UFC debut against Jourdain.

The 25-year-old Jourdain has fought in the lightweight division before. He has 1 win in his 4 appearances in the UFC. He finished ‘The Korean Superboy’ Doo Ho Choi in 2019. His 2 losses have come via decisions against Andre Fili and Desmond Green.

‘Pitbull’ Rojo is an explosive finisher, as he has finished 14 out of his 16 fights inside the cage. That might play a big factor in this weekend’s fight, as it could be all of nothing for him.

This is expected to be a barn burner, with both fighters having the pedigree to finish a fight. Rojo, who has a lot of early finishes in his career, might look to do the same in his UFC debut. One can expect him to be going all out to finish Jourdain early. This might leave him searching for breath later in the fight.

Over the course of his career, Jourdain has shown his granite chin and the ability to take a shot. So, he should be able to withstand the early storm from Rojo. Also, keeping the finishing pedigree of ‘Air’ in mind, he will look to attack a fatigued Rojo in the later rounds. The Canadian should be able to use his superior experience under the bright lights of the UFC and secure a late finish.

Final Prediction: Charles ‘Air’ Jourdain by T/KO
