Beneil Dariush is arguably one of the best lightweights in the UFC currently. His fight against Islam Makhachev was supposed to be a true test to the Russian. Moreover, it was a fight that everyone wanted to see.

The Dagestan-born fighter never fails to put out a positive word about fighters, especially since he has retired from the fight game and approaches the art of fighting in a different way altogether. 

Khabib Nurmagomedov has also given due credit for his former fellow lightweights, such as Dustin Poirier and Charles Oliveira, who he currently considers are the two best lightweights in the world.
