The 2023 class of the UFC Hall of Fame got a lot more precious for the UFC community. The former middleweight champion, Anderson Silva, is all set to cement his position in UFC history, as he is now one of the members of the Hall of Fame. ‘The Spider’ set foot in the UFC octagon back in 2006. His debut bout at the UFC was against Chris Leben, and the Brazilian won the bout effortlessly in the very first round. Since day one, ‘The Spider’ has tried hard to make a big name for himself in the promotion. The Brazilian fighter became completely successful in the same. The retired middleweight champion holds the longest title reign in UFC history at 2,457 days.

Silva also achieved 16 consecutive victories in the promotion, starting with his first bout in 2006. The winning streak was broken when he lost to Chris Weidman at UFC 162. Most of his fellow fighters and the UFC president, Dana White, were so impressed with the Brazilian fighter’s bouts that they believed that he was one of the greatest fighters in the history of MMA. The 47-year-old’s last fight in the promotion was against Uriah Hall at UFC Fight Night 181 on October 21, 2020. By this time, ‘The Spider’s fighting career has suffered some terrible losses. Now that he is finally in the right place, his son and daughter couldn’t be more proud. They expressed their utmost happiness for their dad’s Hall of Fame induction.

It was during UFC 286 that the promotion announced that Anderson Silva would be inducted into the Hall of Fame in the Pioneer Wing. The class of 2023 also includes Silva‘s contemporaries, Jens Pulver and Jose Aldo. The induction will take place in Las Vegas from July 3–9 as part of the 11th Annual UFC International Fight Week. Ahead of the induction, the promotion made a heartwarming video in respect of the incredible journey of Silva.

In the video, Anderson Silva‘s son, Gabriel Silva, was seen talking so proudly of his father. Gabriel Silva said, What my dad did, I don’t think we will ever witness again.” His other kids, Kalyl Silva, Kauana Silva, and Kaory Silva, have expressed their happiness through their Instagram handles.

His daughter, Kaory Silva, wrote in her Instagram story, “You already know how proud I’m of you dad, it’s about time!!! You are the greatest of all time and nobody can’t ever argue with that. What you did and do for the sport it’s incredible, you brought respect and taught people to see the art behind the MMA. Sou sua fa viu. VC É FODA!

The rest also shared a post by ESPN MMA on their Instagram stories.

For the UFC community, it was indeed one of the most anticipated moments. There is no debate over Silva being the aptest person to be on the list of Hall of Famers. The Brazilian fighter is one of the few fighters who has contributed largely to the popularity of MMA all around the world.
