“You Only Get So Many Passes”- Bellator Featherweight Champion A. J. McKee Calls Out Nate Diaz After Jake Paul Versus Tyron Woodley Weigh-in Scuffle

Nate Diaz has recently been in the news due to his presence at the Tyron Woodley vs. Jake Paul 2 event. At the event, the Stockton-native got himself into a scuffle with Bellator fighter Anthony Taylor and Bellator featherweight champion A.J. McKee.

Now, McKee has finally shot back at Nate Diaz for the latter’s funny business with his teammates.

The Bellator #1 pound-for-pound fighter happens to be good friends with Jake Paul’s teammate Anthony Taylor. Notably, Taylor had a bout set up with Nate Diaz’s teammate and disciple Chris Avila in the prelims of Woodley versus Paul bout. Interestingly, Nate Diaz joined Avila at the ceremonial weigh-in of the event. However, the UFC superstar got into a scuffle with McKee’s team. Now, the Bellator champion has responded to Diaz’s actions.

“Disrespect is disrespect. So that’s my take on it. You only get so many passes,” He said. They like to throw bottles, I like to throw hands. You know Nate, the whole little squad, they like to throw bottles. I’m trying to throw these[referring to his hands] though, lights on.”

“So, the level of disrespect that has been dished out, you know I mean, it won’t go unheard of,” McKee continued.

It still remains to be seen if Diaz will actually react to McKee’s threat. Presently, the Stockton native already has his plate full as he is already in talks for a fight with Dustin Poirier.

Why is there animosity between A.J. McKee and Nate Diaz?

Nate Diaz is a good friend of Chris Avila and A.J. McKee happens to be a teammate of Anthony Taylor. Both Anthony Taylor and Chris Avila have a history as they fought each other in January 2020. Notably, Anthony Taylor defeated Nate Diaz’s disciple in that bout. Later, Taylor revealed that Nate Diaz (21-13) tried to ‘jump him’ after the fight while he was showboating.

Meanwhile, Chris Avila and Anthony Taylor were set up for a boxing match just before Jake Paul versus Tyron Woodley’s rematch. They found themselves in crossroads as both the teams got in a scuffle at the weigh-in.

Interestingly, Chris Avila won their rematch at the event. However, after their fight ended, Nate Diaz couldn’t stop himself and pretended to punch a man who spilled his drink due to it. Later, it was revealed that the man was Carressa Archer, who happens to be a gym partner of A.J. McKee.
