Hence, MMA legend Jose Aldo had no second thoughts about rallying behind Brazilian soccer star Vinicius Jr. The Real Madrid forward took to social media to share his frustrations over racism in the Spanish football league. The 22-year-old allegedly faced racist chants during Madrid’s defeat against Valencia on Sunday.
Following the match, Vinicius shared a lengthy post on social media to decry the racism he has been facing since his arrival in the Spanish capital. The soccer star’s message went viral and a wave of support followed, including that of former UFC champion Jose Aldo.
Aldo is one of the biggest names in MMA history and one of the greatest martial artists to come out of Brazil. As an icon of Brazil on the global stage, the former UFC and WEC featherweight champion joined his compatriot in support.
