UFC 294, less than two weeks out, looked like it would be a proverbial dumpster fire. With both the main and co-main event in jeopardy after multiple pull-outs, the prospect of even a potential cancellation reared its ugly head. But, like a phoenix, the card rose from the ashes of injury to become an even more promising card.
And while the card may have been underwhelming for fans, there was no shortage of stars at the event, as is par for the course for the UFC’s Middle East events. Soccer stars Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Kevin De Bruyne were in attendance, to the chagrin, of Manchester City fans and some UFC fans.

Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne spotted at UFC 294
Kevin De Bruyne was seen at UFC 294 in Abu Dhabi headlined by the Alexander Volkanovski vs. Islam Makhachev lightweight title bout. Makhachev stopped ‘Volk’ in the first round because of a beautiful head kick. The Manchester City captain and midfielder was seen enjoying himself at the bizarre yet oddly entertaining card. De Bruyne has been out of the Manchester City squad recovering from a hamstring injury. He sat out a close home game against Brighton today, which Man City managed to win 2-1.

He even took the time to wish fans and expressed his excitement for the card. “Hi guys, Kevin here. I am at the Abu Dhabi UFC fight. Can’t wait to see the games. Enjoy,” the Belgian said in a clip. And fans had a field day with his greeting.
