Cristiano Ronaldo is a true MMA fan. He’s proven time and time again that he loves the UFC. He’s hung out with greats like Conor McGregor as well as Khabib Nurmagomedov. The interlacing of soccer and UFC often brings fans some of the most memorable moments. In recent news, Ronaldo just crossed paths with Israel Adesanya.

The two met very recently in Saudi Arabia. Adesnaya and the soccer GOAT had a very short conversation about Adesanya’s future in the sport. It was then that Ronaldo ensured that he found time to talk about Adesanya’s friend too. Alexander Volkanovski found a concerned voice and fan in Ronaldo, who would have known? Alexander Volkanovski just suffered a rather humiliating loss against Islam Makhachev. At UFC 294, ‘Volk’ stepped in at the last moment to replace Charles Oliveira who pulled out due to an injury. The fighter was excited to get his vengeance against Makhachev. However, it did not go as planned.

In the very first round of the bout, Makhachev ended up landing a strong kick to Volkanovski’s head. It cut open his skin and almost took him off his feet. Quickly, Makhachev crowded ‘Volk’ up with a barrage of fists. The knock-out was confirmed and Volkanovski had lost. ‘The Great’ was rather emotional in the post-match press conference. Seeing this state of his is probably what pushed Ronaldo to ask ‘Izzy’ about his well-being.
