UFC Hall of Famer Ronda Rousey is still going strong as a WWE superstar after an illustrious MMA career that inspired millions of women around the world. However, she had her own struggles on her way to becoming a successful athlete. There was a time when winning wasn’t making her feel good enough.

Ronda Rousey narrated the time when she ran away from home in her book, ‘My Fight/Your Fight’, after having a heated discussion with her mother. She went to New York and trained under Jason Morris, who also owned a gym. While training there, Rousey recalled winning many championships. However, as per her book, he was scamming her by taking away her checks.

During that time, she had one of the lowest points in her life after losing a match that she thought she should have won. She said, “The low point came when I lost the 2005 world championships in Cairo, Egypt, to an Israeli girl who had no business beating me.” The former SmackDown women’s champion also mentioned that she was trying to establish herself as one of the best fighters in the world. However, she was having trouble making weight.

Ronda Rousey had enough and went back to her mother

‘Rowdy’ already had a lot on her mind when one day she had enough. She was with her then-boyfriend whom she referred to as D*ck IttyBitty in her book. During those days, she was living with him and their third roommate, who was making her uncomfortable. “A third roommate stretched out on the nearby couch, his leg dangling over the side. It hit me.” It then hit her and she started thinking about her purpose after running away from home and training at Jason’s gym. She felt that her life wasn’t improving.

“I was with a guy who cheated on me in a house full of people who knew about it and said nothing,” wrote Ronda Rousey. She added, “I was training under a coach I couldn’t stand and who was taking my money. I was starving. I was not improving.” It was at that moment that the UFC Hall of the Famer had enough of living the way she was. She shouted to herself, “What the f*** am I doing here?” She finally gathered the courage and called her mother to ask to go back home.
