Noche UFC proved to be an exciting event, where fans witnessed the debut of Charlie Campbell. Furthermore, he defeated Alex Reyes in the very first round with a knockout. Moreover, he celebrated his win by using a famous WWE one-liner by Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson on Daniel Cormier during the post-fight interview. ‘The Cannibal’ recently opened up about the reason behind his shout-out to the Hollywood star.

Charlie Campbell originally attempted to get into the UFC through Dana White‘s Contender Series. However, he was unable to get a contract after losing to Chris Duncan. ‘The Cannibal’ recently made an appearance on ‘The MMA Hour’ talking about his successful debut last weekend. Meanwhile, Ariel Helwani took the opportunity to ask him if Daniel Cormier took offense to him dropping the “It doesn’t matter” catchphrase on the Hall of Famer. But Campbell mentioned that it was just a light-hearted moment. He said, “I think deep down he [Cormier] respected it because like, I mean, why wouldn’t you? Come on. It’s not like anything personal.”

However, he believes that he could have done a better job. Campbell also assured that he will always seek to make the most of the time he gets on screen. “I still think I could have done a better job. Put it that way. But I am going to capitalize on those 10 seconds I get any time,” said the 28-year-old.

Charlie Campbell also mentioned that he had shared a video clip of him dropping Dwayne Johnson’s famous catchphrase on his social media handle. However, ‘The Rock’ did not respond to it. He added, “I did something where I posted the same video. He didn’t get active and engage on that one, but he 100 percent saw it.” Nevertheless, Campbell also gave the reason behind his dropping the famous WWE one-liner.
