During their almost 3 hour long discussion, the duo delved into a plethora of topics from the combat sports universe. Amid these conversations, an untold story of the WWE icon’s first interaction with multi-promotional champ Brock Lesnar came to light. Hulk Hogan recently starred in episode #2024 of the JRE podcast. The UFC commentator, who is definitely a big fan, offered his respects to the WWE legend before the discussions kicked off. Around the 5-minute mark, the duo began talking about Brock Lesnar’s return to the wrestling game after his successful stint at the UFC.

Diving deeper into the narrative of ‘The Next Big Thing’s return to RAW way back in 2012, Rogan lauded Lesnar’s grit. His recollection of Lesnar performing a front flip took center stage, as he added, “I remember watching Brock Lesnar do a front flip and land on his head. And I’m like – any other human is paralyzed from thatDude – that’s insane!”

Following Rogan’s remarks, Hogan divulged a fascinating behind-the-scenes story of his first encounter with the formidable Brock Lesnar – after the latter’s return from the UFC. The intensity of the scenario surged, and Hogan, employing his characteristic wit, shared the method he used to break the ice.

The 70-year-old icon revealed, “Well, I got him first when he came back from the UFC… When he came back from the UFC – they gave him to me first – and he was really intense, brother.” Hogan recounted how he playfully referred to Lesnar as “Broccoli,” a tactic he employed to ease the tension. 

He vividly recalled telling Lesnar, “If you keep hurting me in here – if you don’t loosen up on the old man here – I’m going to make you look really, really bad. Because [then] you’ll be in here by yourself.

Hogan’s insights didn’t end there. He spoke fondly of ‘The Beast Incarnate’s transformation, from an intense newcomer to one of the best workers in the wrestling business. Likewise, he further added, “Now, he’s like – sort of one of the best workers this business has ever seen.”

What’s more – ‘Hulk’ pointed out Lesnar’s growth as a performer. He highlighted Lesnar’s prowess in drawing money, engaging with the crowd, and mastering the art of placement and instinct within the ring. Moreover, with admiration in his voice, Hogan emphasized, “I mean – he draws money. He backpedals – he sells – he’s got instinct. He’s – he knows placement – he knows where he’s at. He listens – like, you don’t have to tell him what to do… He goes out and listens to the crowd – with his mind and his heart – something that’s [like] a lost art form. He’s got it man – he’s figured it out…”
