“I Am Married Anyway” – Derrick Lewis Brings Up “Heartbroken” Ronda Rousey Years After Famous Call-Out

UFC’s funniest fighter, aka Derrick Lewis, has once again shown his humorous side. The heavyweight will face Sergei Pavlovich at UFC 277 on July 30. He recently appeared on Daniel Cormier’s DC check-in and spoke about his upcoming bout.

Their conversation was quite interesting considering Cormier and Lewis faced each other in the octagon at UFC 230 in 2018. ‘DC’ won through submission in the second round.

During the end of their conversation, the retired fighter revealed he had also interviewed WWE superstar and former UFC champion, Ronda Rousey. In response, Lewis questioned, “Did she ask about me?”

This caused them both to laugh and Lewis continued, “Off record”.

Cormier replied, “There’s three cameras, bro. It’s not off record. She didn’t ask about you.”

“She didn’t?” questioned Lewis.

To this, Cormier answered, “She’s heartbroken.”

“No, it’s cool, it’s cool. I am married anyway,” said Derrick Lewis.

Fans loved their interaction, and many found their Ronda Rousey conversation hilarious. Interestingly, Lewis has also fought Rousey’s husband, Travis Browne, at UFC Fight Night: Lewis vs. Browne in 2017. He even called out Rousey after defeating Browne.

‘The Black Beast’ is coming off a recent loss against Tai Tuivasa at UFC 271. The fighter lost by T/KO. Previously, he also lost against Cyril Gane at UFC 265, which was for the heavyweight interim title.

Hence, his UFC 277 fight will be an interesting one to watch. After all, his Russian opponent is currently on a three-fight winning streak; all through T/KO’s.

Lewis ranks at the fifth rank in UFC’s heavyweight division, whereas Pavlovich holds the eleventh position.

Lewis versus Pavlovich will be on the main card. Brandon Moreno versus Kai Kara France will be the co-main event.

Julianna Peña versus Amanda Nunes will be the main event.

While both the fighters have great knockout power, Pavlovich is just four fights old in the UFC. Hence, he hasn’t faced some of the best fighters in the division. However, his victories by T/KO are impressive.

Lewis has fought some of the biggest heavyweights in the promotion. Hence, the outcome of the fight will be interesting.
