Cain Velasquez has been in trouble. After getting entangled with the law, he has been unable to get bail. The retired UFC fighter has been in custody since February 28. Many UFC fighters have talked about the case. Now, fellow retired UFC fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov has spoken about him.

As reported by ‘TMZ Sports’, the Russian athlete expressed his desire to visit Velasquez. He was heard saying, “Yesterday, I was talking with coach. I tell him it’s, any chance or it’s possible to go and see him in jail, you know. Because in Russia, we can go and see anybody. Like, I asked because I don’t know the law here in the US.”

“I ask him, I really wanna go to see him after a couple of days, I’m gonna be in San Jose. I wanna go to see him, shake his hand, give him good energy, you know.”

As a result, it would be interesting to see if Nurmagomedov goes to visit Velasquez. After all, they were gym mates at American Kickboxing Academy. Hence, it is not surprising to see the 33-year-old athlete wanting to provide some comfort to his friend.

Since the news of Cain Velasquez’s arrest broke out, many fighters have provided their thoughts and opinions about what happened. Nurmagomedov has even tweeted about the incident.

The heavyweight retired back in 2019 after sustaining a loss against Francis Ngannou. ‘The Predator’ defeated Velasquez in the first round via a knockout. Post his UFC gig, he found a place in the pro-wrestling promotion, WWE.

He appeared in WWE thrice, out of which he wrestled twice, before getting cut in 2020 because of the pandemic.

Cain Velasquez: His short WWE career

WWE released the former UFC heavyweight champion as a part of their staff cutting. He made his WWE debut as a backup for Rey Mysterio against Brock Lesnar. Velasquez had already defeated Lesnar in the UFC. However, in WWE, Lesnar defeated Velasquez via submission.

Post this, he teamed up with Humberto Carrillo to defeat The O.C. at a house show in Mexico City.
