Famous UFC fighter, Jorge Masvidal, shared a piece on Facebook that involves Joe Rogan and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. Although the news that ‘Gamebred’ had posted was quite old, the fighter still shared how he felt about the whole situation. Masvidal wrote, “This is bad..”

Masvidal received an extremely negative response from the audience in the comment section. The fighter was thrashed for bringing up a sensitive issue long after it had lost its relevance. The comment section saw people supporting both Johnson and Joe Rogan.

What was the issue about?

The article entails the incident when Joe Rogan came under heavy public scrutiny for using the N-word. A video compilation of him using the racial slur multiple times throughout the history of his podcast went viral.

Johnson, who had previously shown his support to Rogan, for another controversy that he was a part of, after learning about the event that involves racism, took his support back. In a tweet, the Hollywood A-lister said, “Dear @donwinslow, Thank you so much for this I hear you as well as everyone here 100% I was not aware of his N-word use prior to my comments, but now I’ve become educated to his complete narrative. Learning moment for me. Mahalo, brother and have a great & productive weekend.”

Joe Rogan Apologizes for Using Racial Slur

He also said, “I was also talking about how there’s not another word like it in the entire English language because it’s a word where only one group of people is allowed to use it, and they can use it in so many different ways. If a white person says that word, it’s racist and toxic.”

The UFC commentator further said, “But a Black person can use it, and it can be a punchline, it can be a term of endearment, it can be lyrics to a rap song, it can be a positive affirmation. It’s a very unusual word, but it’s not my word to use. I’m well aware of that now, but for years I used it in that manner.”

He ended by saying, “My sincere and humble apologies. I wish there was more that I could say but all this is me talking from the bottom of my heart. It makes me sick to watch that video but hopefully, at least some of you will accept this and understand where I’m coming from. My apologies and much love….”
