Joe Rogan has always been an active advocate of free speech and freedom of expression. The 55-year-old’s journey to the top of the world’s leading podcasters list was anything but easy. Rogan faced several hurdles regarding censorship of his content during the pandemic era. However, the UFC commentator stood strong and is now receiving commendations for it. Former WWE superstar Ryback is the latest public figure to acknowledge Rogan’s efforts against being canceled.

The 41-year-old recently took to Twitter to remind everyone of the efforts to cancel Rogan. He also highlighted the real problem behind such attempts.

Ryback shows support for Joe Rogan

The Joe Rogan Experience was at the center of controversies at the beginning of 2022. Rogan received heat for the type of content he opted to put out on his platform. The controversies stemming from his work during the pandemic era had already placed the BJJ black belt holder under severe scrutiny.

At the top of the odds stacked against Rogan was Spotify’s attempt to regulate the content that the users saw. Aside from all this, Rogan faced constant threats of being canceled as well.

Now that the tide has turned in his favor, WWE superstar Ryback is among those who acknowledged the sinister attempts against the JRE host. In a recent tweet, Ryback responded to another tweet highlighting how Elon Musk’s takeover of Twitter suddenly made mainstream media anti-censorship.

The former WWE Intercontinental champion pointed out the double standards of mainstream media, highlighting how they once tried to cancel Rogan. Ryback called anyone who worked for those companies the real problem. He ended his tweet with a rhyming call to cancel such companies- “Block Block Shell Shock.”

A former regular at WWE, Ryback himself is no stranger to controversies. In fact, he famously went to a legal battle with the pro-wrestling giants over trademark problems.

The Ryback-WWE Controversy

Back in 2020, Ryback announced he was going into a legal battle with WWE. ‘The Big Guy’ added it would give him “great joy” in beating the WWE “every step of the way.” According to Ryback, the company refused to pay him for an ankle injury and refused to let him pursue lucrative opportunities outside the promotion.

Further, he also blamed his former colleague, CM Punk, for his downfall in WWE. According to Ryback, it was Punk’s refusal to wrestle with him that threw him out of a prominent storyline and marked the beginning of his demise in WWE.
