UFC commentator Joe Rogan once had an issue with the UFC promos, including the one of Ronda Rousey. ‘Rowdy’ Rousey might have been with the UFC for a short amount of time, but her star power and winning streak left everyone in awe. She started her professional MMA career in 2011 with Strikeforce and made her UFC debut in 2013. The promotion’s inaugural women’s bantamweight champion went undefeated until she faced Holly Holm in 2015.

Rousey lost her title to Holm (UFC 193), who then dropped it to Miesha Tate (UFC 196). ‘Cupcake’ lost the belt to ‘The Lioness’ in her first defense at UFC 200.
Thus, it made sense for Rousey to face Nunes in order to get back the title. When ‘Rowdy’ returned a year later at UFC 207 to face Nunes, the UFC promos primarily focused on her instead of the champion.
Rogan, who was not happy with this, had taken to Twitter and written, “I find it extremely bizarre that all these @UFC 207 promos only focus on Ronda and very little about the champion @Amanda_Leoa”.

Most of the UFC 207 promos focused on Rousey’s story: ‘She’s back’ and this might have rubbed Rogan the wrong way.
‘Rowdy’ lost to Nunes via a T/KO. The Amanda Nunes fight ended up being her last bout in MMA. After experiencing two back-to-back losses, the fighter retired from mixed martial arts.

Was Joe Rogan responsible for the Ronda Rousey hype train?
While Rogan expressed his dislike for the UFC’s one-sided promos, many felt that the commentator, too, was responsible for the hype behind Rousey.
Joe Rogan had tweeted several times and hyped the fighter.

Over the years, many fans have wondered if she will enter the Octagon again. While the former UFC champion has made it clear that she won’t be coming back to the sport, it looks like one particular fighter could compel her to get back into the cage. It is none other than Gina Carano.
Rousey, who admires Carrano, would love to face the former Strikeforce and EliteXC athlete. However, Carrano has been out of the game for the longest time and is content with the movies she is doing.
Hence, Rousey versus Carrano is a super-fight the fans won’t get to watch.
