In another instance, in a long list of memorable social media moments, McGregor took to X to share a new persona. Amidst rumors of his UFC 296 return, that were addressed by Dana White, ‘The Notorious’ humorously pitched his idea for a new WWE character. What’s interesting is who the Irish superstar modeled his character off of. Pitching his idea to one of the most distinguishable WWE personalities, Vince McMahon, McGregor, once again stole center stage.

In the post on X, which has now been deleted, Conor McGregor detailed his idea about his WWE character. He also added an interesting backstory that drew parallels to his own life and possibly Vince McMahon’s as well. The intriguing backstory also set up the stage for his character, “Ron McMahon’s” eventual success, according to McGregor. The character shares more than just the heritage with McMahon. They apparently share the same business prowess. This funny post could be an allusion to the success these two have found in their respective industries.

McGregor wrote, “My WWE character. The babyface boss, Ron McMahon. I specialize in ambush, and power control. Abandoned by the family in Ireland but made my own fortune brewing alcohol. And now I’m back. And boy am I pi**ed“. The WWE holds its place as one of the most successful and consistent wrestling promotions. The franchise has produced many names, such as Hulk Hogan and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson that have almost become household. Now McGregor also seems to be making a statement, putting forth his vision for a new character.

McGregor’s rumored UFC return: Dana White sheds light

McGregor’s online activities have been adding to the conversation regarding his UFC return. Recently fans believed they were in for some good news when a picture confirming a bout in December for the ‘Notorious’ was being circulated online. However, Dana White announced that the news was fake and that any developments on the front would be first made available through him and other official channels.

McGregor has been out of the Octagon, after suffering a leg injury during his bout with Dustin Poirier in 2021. Since then, the Irishman has been recovering, gearing up for his grand return slated for December. However, these announcements hang in the wind under the light of the USADA controversy as well as his injury recovery. Fans will be eagerly waiting for the Irish superstar to make his reappearance for the first time in a long time.
