Israel Adesanya handed Paulo Costa a one-sided loss at UFC 253 headliner. However, despite getting dominated by his opponent, Costa is looking for a rematch as soon as possible.
The Brazilian had his shot at middleweight gold last Saturday at Fight Island. Despite a heated build-up to the fight, the Costa that entered the Octagon was a mere shadow of the wrecking ball that had punched his way to a title shot. He didn’t come forward and hence, Adesanya chopped away at his legs from the outside. The champ closed out the fight in only the second round.
Following his victory, Adesanya attempted to dry-hump Costa. His actions generated a lot of negative reviews from the fans who blamed him for being overconfident. Meanwhile, the “victim” of the act, Costa, was not aware of Adesanya’s actions until now.
As soon as he got wind of the same, he has labeled the middleweight kingpin as human trash. Moreover, he has asked Dana White for a rematch against ‘The Last Stylebender’.
“I come here to talk about the action that human trash did after our fight. I didn’t see it when I was in the cage but I saw it now…” Costa said.
“I want my rematch. Something happened before the fight. I am not excuse here to my people and my fans. But I will be a hundred percent to fight him and make him pay. That’s my words,” he added.
As soon as Costa put out the video, Adesanya got wind of the same. He even dropped by in the comments section letting his former opponent know that he can defeat him once again.
While Adesanya is ready to defeat Costa once again, it is highly unlikely that he will face ‘The Eraser’ in an immediate rematch. The fight between the two was nowhere close and the 185-pound division has contenders waiting in the ranks.
Israel’s antics after the fight weren’t just limited to dry humping Costa. He even went and told Costa’s coach, Eric Albarracin, that he’d ‘c*m all over his face’. It was this behavior of his that was condemned by a number of fans. However, as long as he is at the top and undefeated, such actions may get overlooked.
