Several fans want Georges St-Pierre to return to UFC action and fight Khabib Nurmagomedov. The Canadian Superstar has left such an impact on the sport that even after three years of his retirement, people still desire to see him back.
That said, NBA sensation Goran Dragic has recently pleaded GSP for a return. The Miami Heat’s point guard is apparently a huge fan of MMA as he bills a fantasy fight between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Georges St-Pierre to be the biggest event in the sport.
Goran Dragic has a valid point. Khabib and GSP have expressed their interest in the matchup, and it has all the potential to become the biggest event in UFC. However, it is still far away from fruition.
Goran Dragic seems to be a huge fan of Georges St-Pierre vs Khabib Nurmagomedov fight
Whether the fight happens or not, Goran Dragic has showcased all his energy towards it. The NBA player recently connected with ESPN’s Ariel Helwani to discuss several things.
When asked to pitch the biggest event in MMA, Dragic said, “Yes that one, Khabib vs GSP. I think that will be an amazing fight, probably one of the biggest fights in MMA history.”
If that’s not enough the NBA star has also requested GSP for a return. “GSP, please come back man,” said Dragic.
Amid all the turmoil, GSP has showcased his interest in facing Khabib Nurmagomedov only. However, the differences in their weight classes can hamper the contest from happening. Khabib belongs to the lightweight division and GSP is a natural welterweight.
Despite expressing all his interest, GSP has also hinted that he isn’t comfortable in shifting weight at this age. Thus, if the UFC brass and Khabib don’t come under terms, the matchup might flow out.
Also, Khabib will defend his lightweight title against Justin Gaethje in the main event of UFC 254. He is rumored to accept one more fight after that. Thus, the UFC needs to finalize the fight shortly.
