Conor McGregor is active on Twitter yet again. And as we all know, the Irishman seldom fails to stir up controversy when his thumbs start working.
In his most recent venture into MMA analysis, The Notorious ranked the “Gods of all things” of the MMA community. Of course, he gave his reasons for the list and their ranking.
The world of mixed martial arts has seen a plethora of warriors who have proven their worth inside the Octagon. Thus, people genuinely accept each and every one of them as greats. However, the act of listing out top tens is just plain habitual to us humans. And Conor McGregor decided it was time to roll out his own opinions.
Anderson Silva bags the number one G.O.A.T position
The Brazilian “Spider-Man” is widely regarded as one of the best fighters to step onto the canvas. One of the most vicious strikes that the world of MMA has ever seen, Silva holds various records for offensive striking in the UFC. The technicality with which he executes his renowned jabs, combined with devastating power, made him a dangerous opponent. Moreover, his fighting style is especially unique due to his ability to make seamless transitions from southpaw to orthodox.
His greatness, of course, has enough proof to garner credibility. He. even to this day, holds the record for the longest title run in the UFC. His rule over the Middleweight Division lasted for 2,457 days from 2006 to 2013. While actively defending his title, he also made a record for 16 consecutive victories.
Many MMA analysts, including the UFC Boss himself, Dana White, and color commentator Joe Rogan, credit Silva with being the best mixed martial artist ever. Thus, his inclusion in Conor’s list does not come as a surprise.
Conor McGregor names himself the No. 2 G.O.A.T., if not tied at No. 1 with Silva!
Conor ranked himself as the no. 2 MMA G.O.A.T. of all time after Anderson Silva. This, too, he clarified, is only if he does not tie with Silva yet. Nevertheless, he is sure of making it to the top spot by the time he hangs up his gloves.
The array of finishes, across 2 divisions, with champion status in 1, Anderson Silva is No.1 MMA GOAT.
My array of finishes, across 3 divisions, with champion status in 2, I’m No.2. If not tied 1.
However still active, No.1 is fully secured by career end. And easily.
