Fans of the world’s most famous hedgehog have a multitude of reasons to be happy right now. Sonic, the blue speedster has appeared in a lot of video games over the years, and he has enthralled players around the world. The character hasn’t had his solo title for a long while, with the last one being Sonic Forces in 2017.
But it seems like it’s all about to change as the Sonic Team finally revealed a new video game set to release in 2022. The studio disclosed the title’s development with a teaser, and it looks exciting very fun.

Blue Hedgehog returns with a new game set to arrive in 2022
In the recently broadcasted Sonic Central, the team behind the hedgehog’s iconic video games revealed some exciting things to look out for this year. The character will celebrate its 30th anniversary this year after it was introduced in 1991. In the event, the developers showcased their plans to celebrate the character for the entire year with video game remasters, merchandise and much more.
The company revealed a new remaster for Sonic Colors titled Sonic Colors Ultimate, which will release on September 7, 2021. But the biggest news from the event came in the end with the announcement of a new game set to arrive in 2022. They did this with a teaser, but it only showcased a small clip of the hedgehog running in supersonic speeds. The developers didn’t divulge the game’ title for some reason. But a modder might have found it with the help of the teaser’s metadata.

Sonic Rangers is the rumored title of the game
A modder recently revealed the game’s title on Twitter. The game is rumored to be called Sonic Rangers as it was seen on the teaser’s metadata a lot of times. It’s unclear why SEGA didn’t announce the name for the 2022 Sonic title with the release year. The teaser also mentioned that it will play on all consoles including PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

2022 seems to be an exciting year for Sonic fans around the world. Along with a new game, the second movie from the Sonic franchise will also hit the theaters on April 7, 2022.
