Even at 49, 4X Mr. Olympia Champion Jay Cutler’s Insane Chest Workout Can Leave the Young Bodybuilders Sweating

A decade after retirement, 4x Mr. Olympia champion Jay Cutler the man who defeated Ronnie’ The King’ Coleman, continues to dominate the bodybuilding space. Halting Ronnie from his winning streak, Cutler, who dominated the Mr. Olympia stage straight from 2006 to 2010, decided to call it quits when he secured sixth place in the 2013 competition. He may now remain away from bodybuilding, but the dedication he has for the sport remains undiminished. Doing what he loves the best on Valentine’s eve, the former champion dropped his insane chest workout routine.
Giving the fans a sneak peek into his solid chest workout day, the 49-year-old can give the youngsters a run for their money.

Starting his power-packed workout session, Cuter first started with the calf exercises. He was seen doing the sanding calf raises and seated calf raises with utmost precision. He did the calf exercise with variations to ensure his gastrocnemius muscle was perfectly targeted. Cutler then proceeded to use the hammer strength iso-lateral exercise. He, however, kept the seat low as he felt that it got him a good contraction in the pectoral muscles.

Further, into the video, former Mr. Olympia was also spotted doing two warm-up sets of the machine chest press. He was quick to follow the warm-up with three working sets. Next, he worked on the incline bench variation of the machine chest press. Once done with that, he again shifted to the iso-lateral plate-loaded machine.
Taking some moments to relax and communicate with others during his workout session, Cutler is then seen doing the dumbbell chest fly. He spent considerable time working on the machine that specifically focused on his chest. Having completed his sets, he then switched to free weights.

After Cutler did some solid sets of the dumbbell chest fly using the free weights, he shifted his focus to the machine incline chest press. Using the iso-lateral plate-loaded machine, he perfectly pushed through a few sets and gave the fans details of how it is done. As he came close to his workout, the legend finished off his day with the isolation exercise. He did a few sets before calling it a day at the gym.
During his training, he specifically focused on his calves and chest. His approach to the workout session was mindful. Even though he was lifting some insane weights, he was making sure not to exhaust himself. He was in very much control of his exercise regime and had the perfect clarity of what needed to be done and what was to be avoided.
