In 1991, Schwarzenegger sat down with Interview Magazine to talk about films and future plans with his family. However, he also addressed one of his ongoing controversies back then. A movie that was meant to be a hit, failed due to mass criticism. What was this movie and why were people angry about it?

In the interview, he spoke about one such movie that turned into a huge financial loss due to public criticism.

Kindergarten Cop was released in 1990. The movie featured a mix of children and violence—a cocktail of disaster. Naturally, the movie and its concept didn’t go down well with parents who watched the entertainer with their children. Both Schwarzenegger and movie director, Ivan Reitman, faced the audience’s brunt over the film.

Although the success and the legacy of the Terminator series are unparalleled, Arnold Schwarzenegger’s biggest paycheck did not come from there. Another movie beat the blockbuster to give the star a bottomless purse.

Schwarzenegger and legendary actor Danny DeVito starred in a hit film called Twins. This movie was also directed by Ivan Reitman and had Schwarzenegger make one of his smartest financial decisions. The star requested backend points instead of his regular payment. The movie fetched $216 million at the theatre alone, leaving the star with about $35-40 million.
