Arnold Schwarzenegger is to date, one of the biggest and most renowned bodybuilders. Over the years, he has accumulated a massive fanbase for himself. Naturally, when anyone tries to come after his physique or capabilities, they’d have to face the wrath of his fans. The same happened when a Facebook page ‘BroScience’ shared late bodybuilder Rich Piana’s controversial statement about Schwarzenegger in a post.

Former bodybuilder Rich Piana once commented on Arnold Schwarzenegger’s genetics. While the bodybuilder meant no harm, his statement was misinterpreted by the fans. This led to him receiving heavy backlash from the bodybuilding community, and recently the same resurfaced on the internet.

Rich Piana thought Arnold Schwarzenegger had bad genetics?

Rich Piana was an esteemed bodybuilder and fitness coach. Piana’s connection to the bodybuilding world, which lasted for several decades, came to an end after his death in 2017. However, before his death, this YouTuber had commented on Arnold Schwarzenegger’s genetics. It’s safe to say, the comment did not sit well with Schwarzenegger’s fans.

Now, years later, bioscience.com has once again shed light on the matter through an article headlined, “Rich Piana on Why Arnold Schwarzenegger Has Bad genetics for Bodybuilding.” Adding a caption to their Facebook post, they wrote, “Rich made some good points on why Arnold didn’t have good genetics for bodybuilding😳🤯.”

While the article specified, Piana’s true intentions behind his statement, many fans yet again mistook his comment. This eventually led to the fandom being divided. One half trolled Piana in an attempt to defend Schwarzenegger. Whereas the other half explained Piana’s statement and called out the insensitive fans for mocking a deceased person.

Internet in splits as a controversial statement resurfaces

The comments section was filled with mixed vibes from the fans. Looking at the post, one fan questioned, “Isn’t he dead?” An unhappy fan added, “This guy left early with his ‘good genetics’ and Arnold still lives healthy with his ‘bad genetics’.” A third fan wrote, “Big words for a guy that couldn’t handle a bit of gear.”

Another fan mocked, “Okay Departed Captain Synthol… I guess AS’ terrible genetics kept him alive long enough to tell the most epic of Bodybuilding story, run his own Bodybuilding empire, movie career, etc. But yeah – those terrible genetics…”

Appalled by the comments, one fan wrote, “I’ve never seen dumber comments then the ones here saying one is dead because of his genetics🤦‍♀” Another fan quoted lines from the article to clarify Piana’s statement. They wrote, “Piana’s argument is not meant to take away from Arnold’s accomplishments but to give him more credit for overcoming his genetic disadvantages- copyed from the article.”
