When Mamdouh Elssbiay made his bodybuilding debut, he instantly caught the attention of bodybuilding experts and fans. With every consecutive competition, the Egyptian mass monster improved his physique. In 2020, he finally clinched the coveted title, of Mr. Olympia. While he was the favorite going into the 2022 Mr. Olympia, Big Ramy faltered and finished in fifth place. Recently, news broke that the former champion is currently undergoing stem cell therapy before competing in the upcoming Arnold Classic 2023. Now, his doctor has made a positive claim.

After the two-time Mr. Olympia’s lackluster performance at last year’s Mr. Olympia, specialists, and fans weighed in on what went wrong. While some thought he didn’t get a fair chance, others theorized about injuries and muscle or nerve damage.

The former champion’s stem cell doctor appeared on the latest episode of ‘The Menace Podcast with Denis James.’ Dr. Adeel Khan is a Regenerative Sports Medicine Specialist from the University of Toronto. He is working with two former Mr. Olympia winners, Ronnie Coleman, and Mamdouh ‘Big Ramy’ Elssbiay. During the podcast, James’s co-host asked Dr. Khan about Ramy’s ongoing treatment and his chances at the upcoming Arnold Classic 2023.

“So, do you think that before the Arnold Classic, we could see a difference in Ramy or is it going to be ongoing?” Cormier asked the specialist. Ramy’s doctor gave a positive response. “It’s a surprise. But I did see him practice posing a few days ago,” said the sports medicine doctor. According to Dr. Khan, Ramy is responding to the stem cell treatment.

“To me, he looked a lot better,” said Dr. Khan. However, he also told Cormier not to treat his word as gospel. “I’m not a judge, so take it with a grain of salt,” added the Sports Medicine specialist. Big Ramy began the alternative treatment at The Bioscience Institute, Dubai, in late January. During the podcast, Dr. Adeel Khan said he could “fix” Ronnie Coleman’s health issues with “cutting-edge” therapy.
