The PBR’s ultimate Unleash the Beast regular season leading up to the World Finals is all the talk of the bull riding world. As the weeks proceeded, the finest of the riders put up a showcase to climb their way up the ladder. Thrill, anticipation, and numbers have been the running factors; building excitement with every show. The event’s spectacle at the Big Apple last night proved to be no different.

It is the 6th week of PBR’s Unleash the Beast over the weekend. Over 30 bull riders stepped into Madison Square to clinch the coveted points and mark a memorable presence. Among the many marveling performances for the night, one was not to be overlooked.

The bull riding sensation secures cheerful victory

Mauricio Moreira, the 24-year-old Gaviao Peixoto native, has been in the bull riding industry for quite a while. A spectacular past UTB season and a Team Series roster have gained the youngster recognition over time. Last night, the 5th of January, the rider only strengthened it further. For round 1 of the New York stop, Moreira rode atop Tijuana Two-Step to put up an impressive 88.75 ride. The PBR team on X presented the cherishable moment when the youngster landed and the crowd stood up in cheers. “BIG moments in the Big Apple for Mauricio Moreira,” the caption read.

With 88.75, Moreira tied for a second position alongside fellow Arizona Ridge Rider, Eduardo Aparecido while Conner Halverson reigned the winner for the evening with a 90-point ride. As the duo earned 25 UTB points each and jumped spots on the ladder, it was 11 steps further for Moreira. The youngster jumped from No. 34 to No. 23 in the standings. With the pace, the bull riding champ will look to live up to the past successful seasons.

A reminisce about the past

Back in October 2021, Mauricio Moreira made bull riding headlines with a spectacle during the 15/15 Bucking Battle. The event is known to host some of the toughest riders in the industry facing the toughest bulls. Moreira rose against the best in the arena to secure his second career 15/15 Bucking Battle. The 24-year-old rode atop I’m Legit Too, scoring a season-high of 90.75 points, thus, securing a win for the night.

Following with the series, Moreira made it to the World Finals earning 120 points and $40,500 in earnings. The youngster will look to make it to the finals yet again, better and stronger. The round-2 of the Madison Square bull riding spectacle will commence on the 5th of January ending with a final, round 4 on the 7th.
